Information Package

The information package is placed on our website as a resource, not only for our clients but also for browsers researching adoption. We understand concrete information about how companies like ours operate can be difficult to come by, so we like to keep this information front and center to help.

That said, any couple who become clients should confirm this information with the social worker. The file is dated month and year, so you will know when it was most recently updated.

IRS Information

Adoption expenses are tax deductible, but this can be a confusing prospect for some. The links below can be a helpful resource; review the primary page for adoption credits and download the Form 8839 and instructions. When the IRS puts out the new forms this site will be updated.

Some notes: If you use these tax credits you will not be able to use Forms 1040A or 1040EZ. The maximum credit is 11650 and covers the range of expenses, primarily in the case of Inheritance Adoptions being the placement fee, homestudy fee, and birthparent expenses. Expenses can be deductible over multiple years.

Interview with Adoptive Parents

This is an actual interview conducted as a part of a larger research study. It is the portion relating to the transition from the child's birth-home to his adoptive one. Keep in mind, the circumstances are somewhat unusual, as the child was 9-months old when he was adopted and this created some unique challenges to plan for and overcome.
